Reminiscent of four years of Ingrid and Manuel the conditions generated in Acapulco
Acapulco, Gro. September 13, 2017. – Recalling the fourth year of the passage of the storms, Ingrid and Manuel for the port of Acapulco, the municipal president Evodio Velázquez, along with the commander of the 53rd Infantry Battalion, Jose Mario Vega Hernandez, led the ceremony of the flag of the directions of Firefighters and Civil Protection act, where the mayor reiterated the commitment of his government to emergency protocols, operate in any weather phenomenon.
The solemn ceremony of the official handover of the National Flag to the escorts of both directions was performed on the esplanade of the central Fire station of avenida Farallon, there Evodio Velázquez said that the first commitment of his government is to safeguard the lives of the families and that it is working in a coordinated manner with the Military and with the state and federal governments, “today, this government does it again the commitment to the protocol of civil protection work, prevent, prioritize the life of the acapulqueños. In his intervention, the coordinator of Civil Protection and Fire, Sabás de la Rosa-Camacho, said that it should be recognized that the Civil Protection has to do with the areas of social development, environment, and health, with which it articulates, with emphasis on the preventive arm. He stated that the Municipalities have the obligation to have a work program, tips installed, updating their atlas of risks and to generate territorial reserves, “the Civil Protection is a collective responsibility that neither can nor should be reduced to bailouts, nor care to those affected or to channel resources for the reconstruction of material damage, the really important thing is to protect the life, integrity, heritage and environment of the people in the eventuality of the presence of any phenomenon disturbing”.
He added that it is time to professionalise the bodies of Civil Protection and aiming to reduce red tape the delivery time of resources of FONDEN, harmonizing the relationship between the various orders of government.
At the ceremony present was the secretary general of the Council, Daniel Meza Loeza; the sarpanch, Marbella Rooms Flowers; the captain General Body Diploma of the general staff, Enrique González Valdez, on behalf of the Region VIII Naval Military, as well as the secretary of Public Safety, Max Lawrence Sedano Roman; the director of Civil Protection, Carlos Amezcua Avalos and the director of the Firemen, José Hernández Ramírez.
