“That this month of Ramadan, of fasting and prayer, help us to rediscover the face of God’s Love”, expressed by the diocesan delegate for Ecumenism during an act of breaking the fast.
The institutional ceremony of breaking the fast of the muslim community of Malaga with the occasion of Ramadan was attended by the diocesan delegate for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, Rafael Vazquez, according to the diocese through its website.
The delegate of Ecumenism, expressed his thanks “by celebrating the holy month of Ramadan and to be witnesses of a gracious and merciful God in a society such as ours, which in great part lives back to God and to the transcendent meaning of life”.
“That this month of Ramadan, of fasting and prayer, help us to rediscover the face of the God of Love who does not want neither the violence nor the division nor the destruction of their children,” he said.
In his speech at the event, Vazquez said that the united religions must help to overcome the conflicts of the society. “Religion is not part of the problem, but part of the solution”, he added.
The act of breaking of the fast took place in the Cultural Centre of al-Andalus (Mosque) and it was attended by the Imam of the Mosque of Malaga, Shaykh Omar El Farouk, the mayor of the capital, and the Government delegate of the Junta de Andalucía in Málaga.
The next week the delegate of Ecumenism will make the institutional ceremony of the breaking of the fast organised by the muslim community of Marbella.
