With a massive event held in the plaza Simon Bolivar, the ministry of Health together with the entities, Eps and Ips, settled in the city, held the reach obtained through the different spaces of training that was offered to pregnant mothers and infants.
This activity will be carried out in the different communities in the District, in the framework of the celebration of the month of breastfeeding, where they trained with lectures to more than 300 mothers, who, given information about the importance of breast milk in the first months of a child’s life.
“It was a wonderful experience because I reinforced what I already knew how to mother to understand that this gesture, in an act of love of the mother towards the child,” said Claudia Insistent, nursing mother of the community of Marbella.
For his part, the secretary of Health, Ana Baron, Toro, ratified the commitment that the administration has with the health and life of all the inhabitants of Riohacha, “this year we have lowered the numbers of death by malnutrition, but the goal is not to present any case and that is what we will achieve with the commitment of mom and dad,” he said.
Similarly, he highlighted the importance of attending to the controls of pregnancy, the control of growth and development of children as a preventive measure of diseases and protection of life.
The event was accompanied by performances of dance and theatre. The different Eps and Ips made presentations of the strategies used in the training on breastfeeding.
